He has quickly learnt how to greet "恭喜恭喜" by clasping his hands together and waving them enthusiatically. That, of course, earned him many 红包s which he immediately handed over to mummy or grandma for safekeeping. But like any other CNY novice, he was of course more interested in the snacks laid out on the tables than the riches lying inside those red packets. Mandarin oranges are his favourite, and he can expertly peel the tiny ones on his own [check out the video here].
These days, he has cultivated the habit of grabbing someone's hand and dragging them with him to go places or to get him something he wants. Over this four-day holiday weekend, he has been going out so much that he seems hooked on it - constantly dragging us to the door and pointing outside, telling us to bring him out!
Festivals and special occasions are so much fun for kids when they are surrounded by family and friends to share the buzz with. Thinking back on our lonesome CNY last year and Johno's 1st birthday party of 3 people, I'm glad Johno finally got to be part of true celebrations this year and hope for many more to come!
