Overdue (Yes, I know!) Updates...

The last update was months ago because we were getting prepared for our journey home to Hawaii: setting travel dates, saying goodbye, and a tonne of other this-and-thats to finish. We'll miss Singapore, of course, but great news is that (1) we'll finally get to reunite with John, (2) my parents are coming to stay for a month to help us settle in, and (3) I've finally finished my 2-year studies and will now have more time for my boys!

Johno will really miss his school. We had a little art exhibition going on to showcase his masterpieces from school that his brilliantly creative 陈老师 guided him to accomplish. He's gonna get so bored at home now - there's a long wait for daycare over here in Hawaii.

Before we left, we had the chance to celebrate Greatgranny's birthday! It was a real fun time, though I kinda have the feeling nobody actually knew how old she was. She probably didn't quite remember either. We were causing quite a commotion at the restaurant with our 40-strong family headcount. The boys are definitely gonna miss this big bunch of noisy, fun, affectionate loved ones!

Grandpa and Grandma were making most of the final chances to take pictures with all 3 of their grandchildren together before they left with us to Hawaii for the month. After spending the first 4 months of his life here in Singapore, Ryan did look a little reluctant to go...

The flight to Hawaii was early, but that didn't stop our convoy of escorts from seeing us off at the airport with their sadness and tears. Wait a minute! How come everyone looks so happy to see us go? Anyway...

The rainbow at the end of the treacherous 20-hour journey was, of course, the sweet reunion.

To make the reunion even more complete, our New Jersey side family came for a one-week visit too!

We all had great fun exploring, sightseeing, touring the island, and just simply hanging out!

After the fun was over, we put the grandparents right to work - Grandpa was fixing things and doing major cleaning in the house and patio. Grandma was babysitting, cooking and taking care of the domestic stuff. Johno was helping to clean up, while John and I just relaxed and enjoyed our slave-driving. *Wicked grins* But, the most amazing thing was that the grandparents actually seemed like they enjoyed doing all that for us. They just can't get enough of it! Haha!
We did find time to enjoy other non-slavery activities together too - like golf, pumpkin-picking, dinner cruises, and trick-or-treating.
It was a nice welcome back to Hawaii.
