You know how some people kick up a big fuss about their birthdays - writing a wish list, hinting reminders to the whole world, wondering what surprises await them, getting upset that they only receive e-cards and not handwritten cards, feeling disappointed when their birthday celebration is not touching or romantic enough...
Well, our dear John is definitely not one of those. In fact, my perfect plan of creating a fine candlelight dinner for his birthday was flushed down the sink when he said, "Oh, it's my birthday this Thursday? Don't bother doing anything fancy for me. In fact, why don't I do the cooking? Yap! I'll cook!"
And there was his romantic birthday dinner:
Stew of Exotic Pig Trotters coupled with Homestyle Sauteed Cabbage and a side of Yesterday's Leftover Jasmine Rice, topped up with an ice-cold mug of Rootbeer!

To the man who gives his all to gladly present the finest of everything to the people he loves, but seeks joy and satisfaction in the most basic and simple things for himself:
Have a very blessed birthday!
Eat your hearts out, ladies; this man is taken!
